Origins

Muok Boxing began with humble roots during the pandemic. When training spaces were closed, we adapted by building a small but functional 168-square-foot garage gym, allowing a close-knit group to train safely in April 2020. It wasn’t long before we outgrew the space and needed something larger to accommodate our growing community.

In September 2020, we embarked on our most ambitious project yet: transforming an old, unused workshop in Andy’s backyard into a dedicated training facility. Spanning approximately 1,320 square feet, the new space provided much-needed room but lacked heating and cooling. COVID-19 restrictions required us to train with masks and an open garage door, braving the elements year-round. Through it all, our community’s resilience shone—bundling up in fuzzy socks and beanies during the winter and sweating it out in the summer heat.

By November 2022, we found our permanent home at The Castle. With its artistic ambiance and soaring ceilings, the space perfectly embodies our vision for Muok Boxing. This eclectic building has a rich history, once serving as an upscale art gallery where Nathie of NK Studios displayed his beautiful creations. To honor its legacy, Nathie graciously allowed us to feature some of his artwork in our training space, preserving the character of The Castle.

We are deeply grateful for how far we’ve come, the unwavering loyalty of our community, and the chance to train in such an inspiring space. When you visit us, be sure to take a moment to appreciate the history and artistry that make The Castle so unique!
